Questions & Answers
Q: I’ve been taking care of my mother in her home for the past 20 years. How do we go about having my name added to the deed (the home is paid for)?
A: Adding a person’s name to real property can be done by recording a deed with the County where the property is located. However, when this type of situation involves someone who is elderly or has medical problems, there are many things to consider; especially if the person ends up in a nursing home or on medical assistance.
